In a faiirly good game at Uplon Park yesterday Millwall scored 2 goals to 0, and qualified to meet Leyton in the final tie for the London Challenge Cup. The ’Spurs played Boreham in goal, and the inside forwards were Macfarlane, Morion, and Massey. Play went evenly and at a smart pace during the first-half, but Millwall were generally the more dangerous.

Twigg scored the first goal, after Cunliffe had kicked against an opponent, the ball going to the centre and leaving a practically open goal. After a free kick given against Joyce for running with the ball, Coquet hit the post, and the Millwall goal had another narrow escape from a miskick by Blythe.

Following change of ends, Joyce had good shuts from Morton and Massey to save, and then the play went all in favour of Millwall. In a series of strong attacks Jones put in a high centre, and Cunliffe, running through the backs, trapped the ball and scored cleverly. Until near the end Millwall did nearly all the attacking, and won quite comfortably. There were about 3,000 spectators.

Millwall and Leyton met in the final tie of the London F.A.’s Challenge Cup on the ground of West Ham Club at Upton Park, the first named gaining the victory by 2 goals to 0.

The win was throughly deserved, for Millwall showed undoubted superiority for three-parts of the game, and had they taken advantage of all their openings their victory would have been more pronounced. The excahnges ruled fast throughout, though a lively ball and a rather strong breeze were somewaht against accurate play, but the men overcame their difficulties very well.

The fine day and the prospect odf a keen fight attracted some 5,000 spectators to the Boleyn Castle ground, the supportors of both clubs being present in considerable numbers.
