Although we have beaten the "Trotters" in League football by a bigger margin it is doubtful whether we have looked more completely the master. It was an excellent game, both victors and vanquished playing the type of football which pleased all concerned; but the young Boltonians, despite their vim and cleverness, were unable to cope with our attack. However, their avarage age is somewhere around the twenty mark, so they have plenty of time before then

Correction to record books:

It is widely reported in all the record books that Len Goulden scored an "Hat-trick" in this game, Goulden only scored the one goal

At Plymouth our attack again showed its strength. As a team we did well, and could have returned to London with both points and without a blush, but something went a little amiss with the rear guard. Nevertheless, the lads are to be congratulated upon the one point
